Welcome to 2nd Grade!

Dear Parents,

     Welcome to Second Grade! My name is Laurie Scrimpsher.  I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher for the 2012-2013 school year.  This is my 12th year at Wells Branch Elementary, and my 20th year to teach.  I have also taught in Bastrop and in Austin.  I grew up in Austin and went to the University of Texas.  I have 2 sons. My oldest will be in ninth grade this year and my youngest will be in fifth grade here at Wells Branch.  I also live in the Wells Branch community. 

     I am proud to call myself a lifelong learner and my goal this year is to help your child become a lifelong learner through exciting and enriching activities.  I strive to provide an environment where all children feel safe and comfortable enough to take the risks that help them meet and exceed my high expectations.  I look forward to getting to know each of you and working with you to help your child succeed.  Communication is an essential part of the work we will do.  Please feel free to call me in the classroom at 428-3443 anytime.  If you leave me a message, I will do my best to get back to you within 24 hours.
